  Purpose and Application of Policy 701

Definitions:

Complainant: a person who makes a complaint of non-professional conduct under this policy.

Respondent: the person or persons against whom allegations are made under this policy.

Founded: a complaint where the evidence demonstrates that there was a violation of Policy 701.

Unfounded: a complaint where the evidence does not support the allegations.

Unsubstantiated: a complaint made in good faith but there is insufficient evidence to either prove or disprove the allegations.

False: an allegation which the complainant knew to be untrue when it was reported.
